Employment or recruitment agencies offer specialist and general job vacancies. Many of these jobs are temporary.
An agency may offer you a job at very short notice. They can also finish temporary work with little or no warning
All recruitment agencies must meet certain standards. They must give you information about terms and conditions. They cannot refuse to pay your wages because they haven’t been paid by the employer. They should not charge you fees for finding work – although there are some exceptions for example, modelling and some entertainment agencies.
Agencies will contact you if something suitable comes up. It is a good idea to ring or visit them regularly so they remember you.
